The Waters Xevo series is a series of benchtop Triple Quadrupole and QTOF instruments for routine applications in quantitation, clinical, environmental or biologics studies. Unlike the Synapt or Vion series, the Xevo series does not include an ion mobility separation! The -S in TQ-S stands for StepWave, a travelling wave ion tunnel inlet system for suppression of neutral and improved sensitivity.
The Waters Xevo TQ-S Mass Spectrometer is an advanced, bench-top, tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer designed for ultra high performance LC-MS applications. Unlike conventional tandem quadrupole mass spectrometers, the Xevo TQ-S utilizes unique T-Wave and ScanWave enabled collsion cell technology to provide a highly flexible analytical tool capable of supporting both quantitative and qualitative studies on a single MS platform. In addition, the stepwave ion transfer improves transfer of the generated ions, keeps neutrals out and the instrument clean even with demanding samples. The Xevo TQ-S is a robust platform for quantitative LC-MS/MS, featuring high speed MRM, with enhanced full scan spectral acquisition modes providing additional qualitative LC-MS/MS capabilities.
Manufacturing date of this system is November 2012.
